Wimborne – Dorset is an Excellent Place to Visit, For the Entire Family


Wimborne – Dorset is a small market town with a view of the “twin towers” of “Minister church”. These towers can not be missed while in town. Wimborne is five miles north of Poole. 

Wimborne Minster church is a Norman and Gothic building, with fantastic architecture. It is known for housing one of the four only surviving chain libraries in the world. It is also the burial place of the grandparents of King Henry the eighth. This is definitely a place to visit. 

“Dorset Heavy Horse Center” and far park is sure to be fun for the entire family. Here you can enjoy free heavy horse wagon rides, pony rides, and even tractor and trailer rides. There are plenty of opportunities to meet the animals, in some hands on activities. These animals include pigs, goats, chickens, horses and more. See the reconstructed blacksmith’s shop, and have a bite to eat at the café. There are lots of things to do here. This is sure to be a day filled with fun. 

Adventure wonderland is an amusement park based on the story of Alice in Wonderland. You can explore the Alice Maze, which has been constructed of seven foot beech hedges, Ride on the teacup ride, try the crazy train ride and more. There are also shows that feature Alice, the Mad Hatter, and more of Alice’s friends. This park is available for birthday parties, where you and your child choose the theme and the food. There are many special treats included. Serious fun for the entire family.

When you are ready for some relaxation, try out “Dream boats”. Here you may rent a boat, and relax while rowing through the picturesque setting. This is only about a 15 minute walk from Wimborne Center, and is a perfect location for a picnic.
