Reuters has recently announced a list of top 10 movies at the North American box office during three days beginning on Feb. 4, in which “The Roommate” released by Sony Corp’s genre arm ScreenGem now ranks No. 1 with $ 15.6 million.

“The Roommate”

Though “The Roommate” released by Sony Corp’s genre arm ScreenGem is a low-budget thriller, it now ranks No. 1 of “Top 10 Movies at the North American Box Office” early Feb. 2011 when earning about $ 15.6 million in its first three days. This movie attracts more audience thanks to the appearance of “Gossip Girl” star, Leighton Meester.

This movie’s profit is now equal to its production budget and in line with expectations

“Sanctum”

Sanctum”, a 3-D underwater adventure produced by James Cameron and released by Universal Pictures, ranks No. 2 with $ 9.2 million. It is said that the profit from this movie is disappointing in comparison with its production expense.

The executive producer’s name, James Cameron, bold on this movie’s poster, doesn’t help it attract more audiences
