SEAT Altea – What’s Special About the Altea?

The Seat Altea is not just another automobile in the market for sure. It has many unique things about it. Firstly, the unusual design of the vehicle includes the vertical parked windscreen wipers, which disappear in to the window on either side of the screen.

The Altea secured the five stars rating in a test conducted by Euro NCAP. The vehicle is available in 6 trim levels such as Reference Sport, Reference, FR, Sport and the Stylance. The Sport trim level is not available at present in the United Kingdom.

Moreover, 11 different engines are available with the top ranging 2.0 FR TDI producing 125 KW of power and available from the month of April, 2006. The vehicle is offered with 4 types of gear boxes based on the engine and the market; they are 5-speed tiptronic, 5/6-speed manual and the 6-speed Direct Shift Gearbox.

The Altea is offered in both petrol and the diesel engines. The petrol engines available to the vehicle include 1.4L I4 that produces 63 kilo watts of power and 97 lb ft of torque, 1.6L I4 producing 75 kilo watts and 109 lb ft of torque, 1.8L I4 Turbo producing 118 kilo watts and torque of 184 lb ft, 2.0L I4 producing 110 KW and the 2.0 liter I4 Turbo producing 147 KW of power and 148 lb ft of torque.

The diesel engines include 1.9 liter TDI producing 77 kilo watts, 2.0L I4 TDI producing 100 kilo watts, 2.0L I4 TDI producing 125 kilo watts and the 2.0 liter I4 TDI producing 103 KW of power. The 1.4 L engine falls under the category of Straight 4 DOHC 16V model and the remaining petrol engines fall under the category of Straight SOHC 16V. The vehicle has the wheel base of 2580 mm. The length, width and the height of the vehicle are 4280 mm, 1770 mm and the 1560 mm respectively.
