‘Like the congestion charge’: Boris Johnson on Irish border checks post-Brexit

The UK’s foreign secretary and Brexit champion has said crossing the border between Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic could be as easy as travelling between London boroughs, comparing future checks to London’s congestion charge. His comments come as the EU prepares to publish the legal text on the divorce agreement reached between the UK and EU in December, which covers the border in Ireland as well as the financial settlement and EU citizens’ rights
