Learn French Programs – 3 of the Best French Programs Reviewed
A lot of people make the decision to learn French, for work, for fun or for travel. Where most people fail with French is the course that they choose to invest in. This is to help you avoid that failure.
1. Rosetta Stone
Rosetta Stone has been around for the past decade or so, and now they are the leaders in the language learning field (in sales at least). Rosetta Stone’s main method of teaching French is through immersion: this means no translation. Rosetta Stone is all French all the time. I think that Rosetta Stone is the best learn French program for someone who needs to be “led by the nose” so to speak when it comes to language learning and they aren’t afraid to pay for the privilege (full course is $ 549).
2. Pimsleur
Pimsleur is one of the older courses around, but it’s still very much relevant to us today. Pimsleur’s sole focus is on getting you to speak French quickly, and so they forgo a written or reading section. The audio section is sometimes a little frustrating as they randomly introduce new grammar rules without any explanation, and it’s more than a little repetitive, but what you learn in Pimsleur you can’t unlearn, the words are stuck there forever. I recommend Pimsleur for people who’s only need is to speak French and can afford the high price ($ 800 for the full course).
3. Rocket French
Rocket French is the newest course on the list, it has elements similar to Pimsleur and Rosetta Stone, such as an audio section that’s very similar to Pimsleur (not quite as long but just as effective) and the software exercises are like Rosetta Stone. Rocket French is not perfect, but it’s fantastic for a beginner to French with. They will learn a lot of French, it’s quite fun and interesting and it’s affordable ($ 100).
