O’Hagan’s novel is about Monroe’s last two years before her death in 1962 through the eye of her pet terrier Maf. Singer Sinatra gave Maf to Monroe in 1960. When Monroe received the dog from Sinatra, she called it Mafia before the lovely name Maf. Maf will tell the story of Marilyn in her last two years including the meetings with former U.S. President John F. Kennedy. The content of the book was written based on Maf’s attitude, so it consists of the dog’s perspective such as “She was an artist to her fingertips … a strange and unhappy creature, but at the same she had more comedy to her than anybody I would over know. More comedy and more art.”
