Hey event planners, it’s Melanie here from http://eventplanningblueprint.com
In today’s video, I’m going to share 3 key areas any meeting planner, party planner or event manager needs to consider before you plan an event – any event!
As the 34th President of the United States, Dwight Eisenhower said, “ Plans are nothing; planning is everything.”
Here are 3 must do event management tips to use for your next event:
1. Set the event objective. It’s important to know the who, what, where, when and why of your event. This should be your first step before you book your venue, catering or any other aspect of your event. When deciding on the objective or the WHY of your event, always keep in mind the question – what’s in it for me, as in what’s in it for my client or guest and why would they want to attend. Once you know this you can effectively plan the who, what, where, and when.
2. Choose the right venue – One of the reasons people struggle to secure the right event venue is because they don’t know the right questions to ask and they don’t get started early enough. For best results consider who your audience is, what is convenient for them in terms of the venue location, and before you decide to use a specific venue, inquire about the level and type of experience the venue and their staff have for the type of event you’re planning.
3. The most common question or concern when planning an event is how much food do I need to satisfy my guests? Know your audience when you decide on your menu because food is one of the most important aspects of any event, and it’s so easy to overlook the importance of good food, but it’s often the one thing people remember and talk about most.
I remember a corporate event I planned where the comments from the men at the conference were, “where’s the meat?” Apparently I didn’t have enough meat on the menu!
Now, you’re probably thinking OK Melanie, that’s great but how do I know how much food to order for MY event. Well, I’ve got you covered. Click on the blog link below for a complete list.
