Audi R8 GT ? Breakthrough of Sports Cars

Audi has just released a new competition version of its road-going R8 mid-engine sports car. According to a company press release, this car was developed for the GT3 class of European sports car racing. Let’s take an inside look at this powerful sports car as follows:

In terms of some significant specifications, Audi R8 GT‘s engine will produce 500 horsepower and will be rear-wheel drive. Moreover, it transmits power to back wheels via a 6-speed sequential gearbox, and it utilizes all of the stock suspension components from the production car.

One more thing, The R8 GT is a lighter car with a total of 3,582.51 lbs. Specifically, Audi added a windshield made of thinner glass, the bulkhead between the passenger cell and engine compartment as well as the window in the rear hatch made of strong, lightweight polycarbonate, and so forth. The R8 GT is also more powerful. The 5.2 FSI V10 delivers a total of 560 HP and 540 Nm (398.28 lb-ft) at 6,500 rpm. The result is a sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds, from 0 to 124 mph in 10.6 seconds and a top speed of 198.8 mph. Finally, it is much faster. To be specific, its output of its 5.2-liter V10 has been increased to 412 kW (560 hp), and it can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in 3.6 seconds.
