If you plan to visit Anna Maria Island this winter, then you need to consider a treat because there are loads of exciting events held. Whether you’re a local or a visitor staying in Anna Maria Rentals, there’s many to keep you entertained.

October Bayfest 2010

The tenth Annual Island Bayfest kicks off at 10am on Saturday 16th October 2010 right through until 10pm the same day. If you’re keen to get celebrating early then a kickoff party is to be held on Friday 15th October featuring the Dr Dave band. The length of Pine Avenue will be jam packed with arts and crafts booths, retail booths, food stalls, drink stalls, not-for-profit booths and of course restrooms. Not only this, the free trolley stops off here so you can save all the walking until you hit the avenue! The headliner this year is The Billy Rice band with the rest of the line up to be announced nearer the time, providing live music all day.

November – April Bridge Street Sunday Market

The Bridge Street Sunday market kicks off on 7th November 2010 and is a Bradenton Beach tradition. The market is held at 107 Bridge Street weekly from November to April. Stalls on offer include: fresh produce, jewellery, garden art, local artwork, clothes, accessories, food, music and much more. This traditional winter market is great for searching out bargains and finding great souvenirs to take back home.

February – Annual Anna Maria Island Wedding Festival
If you’re planning a beach wedding or are just a wedding enthusiast in general, the 4th Annual Anna Maria Island Wedding Festival is right up your aisle. Taking place on 27th February 2011 from 11am – 5pm, the event is set to see over 800 festival goers. They’ll be more than 60 wedding professionals offering help and advice to perspective brides and grooms, enabling you to plan the perfect paradise wedding. Best of all there will be food caterers offering tastings and also a Groom Zone which is geared towards the grooms – providing wedding necessities alongside games and events.

Whilst all this is going on there is still loads to do – all of which you will discover when you arrive on the island. The best advice is to pick the top things that you really want to do, then see if you have enough time to do them – whilst also fitting in some relaxation time! This should not be a problem, especially if you are staying in the many Florida Keys vacation rentals, some of which provide fantastic views out onto the Gulf Coast.
